In response to the "2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake," special exceptions have been announced regarding the period during which applications for status of residence may be accepted, where applications may be submitted, and for technical intern trainees to work on restoration at technical intern workplaces.

We would like to express our deepest sympathies to all those who were affected by the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake.
In response to this Earthquake, special exceptions have been announced regarding the period during which applications for status of residence may be accepted, where applications may be submitted, and for technical intern trainees to work on restoration at technical intern workplaces.
1. Period of Acceptance for Status of Residence Applications
For those who were unable to apply within their period of stay due to the disaster, even if their period of stay has expired, they will be processed individually for the time being, so please contact your local immigration bureau for application.
2. Where to Submit Status of Residence Applications

3. Restoration Work for Technical Intern Trainees at Their Technical Intern Workplaces
Technical intern trainees whose workplaces (including the premises of said workplaces and the surrounding roads, etc.) were damaged by the disaster may, for the time being, engage in restoration work at said workplaces, such as cleaning up debris, etc. without obtaining a permission to engage in activities other than permitted under the status of residence.
