Extension of Period of Stay due to the "2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake"

On January 11, 2024, a Ministry of Justice Public Notice (Ministry of Justice Public Notice No. 5 of January 11, 2024) based on Article 3, Paragraph 2 of the "Act on Special Measures concerning Preservation of Rights and Interests of Victims of Specified Disaster" was enforced.
The expiration date of status of residence will be extended to June 30, 2024 for those who are eligible.
Eligibility:
Those who were in Japan at the time of the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake (January 1, 2024), and who fall under all of the following conditions.
(1) Those who are residing or staying in Japan with a status of residence (including those with "Temporary Visitor" status).
(2) Those whose period of stay will expire by June 29, 2024.
(3) Those who reside or stay in the area of the disaster-stricken municipalities provided for in Article 2, Paragraph 1 of the Disaster Relief Act, associated with the Noto Peninsula Earthquake of 2024.
